BEAM by OneMedNet: Secure Exchange Made Simple™

Security

Full logging, encrypted transfers and LDAP just scratch the surface.

Go ahead, introduce us to your IT security department – they’ll like us. BEAM was built from the ground up to be the most secure medical imaging transfer network ever built. And to top it off, we’re one of the easiest systems to install.

  • We start by running BEAM on a hardened, locked down Linux OS. Plug it in, turn it on and then call us for the authentication key to our network.
  • All messages sent and received are encrypted, transferred over SSL, and authenticated by the destination system.
  • All imaging studies are encrypted and transferred over SSL.
  • BEAM-to-BEAM transfers are peer-to-peer (P2P), which means they are not stored on our servers and they travel in half the time of cloud-based image sharing solutions.
  • Only authenticated users are allowed access to the BEAM appliance, which can be controlled via LDAP authentication with your Microsoft Active Directory servers or by BEAM itself.
  • For standard BEAM transfers, no software is required on clients, thereby reducing security vulnerabilities.
  • Image transfers occur only when both sides approve the transfer. This keeps you from inadvertently sending images to the wrong facility.
  • BEAM can restrict access by IP or a range of IPs.
  • BEAM provides transfer, audit, and security access logging. So you know the what, when, where, and who of all transfers; the play-by-play of each transfer; and the what, when, where, and who of all login attempts.
  • If you’ve read this far and you’re keeping a tally, that’s a lot of layers of protection.

Did we mention that your legal department might like us, too? We help you comply with HIPAA and provide better care at lower cost. And that should make your accounting department like us, too.
