BEAM is fast. Because BEAM uses P2P, transfers go directly between facilities, thereby avoiding the inefficiencies of cloud uploads and cloud downloads. That is why BEAM is used for trauma transfers throughout the State of Hawaii.
BEAM is secure. Transfers are encrypted and travel directly between facilities, thereby avoiding intermediate storage in the cloud. Transfers only occur once they are approved by both facilities.
BEAM is simple. Facilities can easily request prior exams from any other facility by simply using name, birth date, and sex. Upon approval by both facilities, the transfer begins. That is why BEAM helps women’s health centers easily exchange mammography exam priors.
